Bullet by: Laurell k. Hamilton

For those who have been following the Anita Blake series religiously Bullet does not disappoint. Unlike its predecessor, Skin Trade, Bullet is action packed with shock after shock. Just as readers begin to recover from one major development another happens.This book may vary well be the major turning point in the series. Things readers have been hoping for happen, but not because of happy circumstances. Bad things are lurking in the dark, new enemies are arising and new friendships are forged. Pick up Bullet and let the sharp turns keep you on the edge of your seat.

The Secret by: Rhonda Byrne

I went into this book with the wrong impression. I thought it was about a national, government secret kind of like the movie National Treasure.......boy was I wrong.

The Secret is a self help book of a most unusual variety. For any one who as read the Last Symbol by Dan Brown and remembers the collective conscious theory this book is pretty much based on that theory.

The whole book tells you how to use your thoughts to manipulate your life and achieve what ever you want. It sounds bogus and really after knowing "the secret" you don't have to read the book because it is redundant and basically tells you the same thing on every page.

The biggest question is does it work?? Some people are going to say it is completely stupid and impossible. However I recall back in my early teens before I started taking birth control that I would tell my body when to start my period so that it didn't conflict with plans I had. When I did my period always started on the day I wanted it too. I didn't keep track of my periods or count the days between. I think that this might actually work.

If you think good thoughts good things happen. A girl I work with told me her boyfriend always gets mad because every where he goes people are rude to him. She asked him what he though about when he was talking to those people. He said usually bad things about how they look, act, smell etc.... She on the other hand almost always think of good things (she is a rather bubbly person) and people were always nice to her.

This book is worth checking out, the writing isn't great but the theory is extremely interesting.

Nana Season one (anime)

My friend told me about her new obsession a few weeks back and to my surprise it was an Anime based on a manga I had read in high school, so I checked it out.

The first twenty episodes had me on the edge of my seat!! I couldn't stop watching and missed out on a lot of sleep watching episode after episode.

Then around episode twenty, about half way, the show lost its appeal to me. The characters became pathetic creatures who couldn't even tell the people they love the truth!! I kept thinking it would get good again but it never did at the end of the final episode I was like WTF!!! That is not how you end a story, it is supposed to be happily ever after, boy gets girl kind of ending!!

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!

No one ends up with the person they really love, NO ONE!!! And not one of them admits their true feeling either. I was so pissed!! Watch to 20 and stop and save your self some frustration.

Born of Ice by: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Born of Ice is the third book in the League series. Unlike the first two books in the series this one draws you in instantly.

You are sucked into the world and don't want to leave even after you get to the last page.

This book encompass the theme of the whole series which is that the bad guys aren't always the bad guys and that family is everything.

Each character in the series has been beaten down by life but all of them hold true to an honor system. Their families mean the world to them and they do what ever it takes to keep them safe, even if it means breaking the law.

Each book gives more insight into how corrupt the government of the world is and each character becomes less of a criminal and more of a freedom fighter. They break the law not because they want to but because it is the right thing to do, to protect not only their own family but the family of those people the government refuses to care about.

Pick of Born of Night, Born of Fire, and Born of Ice and find out just how much someone will do for the ones the care about.

Wolf Man

I did not much care for this movie. That could be because I went into thinking it was going to have great special effects. I mean this is 2010 if we can make movies like Avatar we should be able to make a were-wolf so realistic I want to piss myself.

Wolf Man is not the movie to do that. If you like the 80's style horror movies with the cheesy special effects that make you want to laugh rather than scream this is the movie for you.

The were-wolves aren't any better then American werewolves in London, in fact the two look quite similar.

The plot is predictable, in fact I figured it out about 20 minutes into the movie.

This movie is not one I care to watch again. It did not capture my imagination or make me sit on the edge of my seat.

As a side note my significant other liked it.

If you want great special effects this isn't the movie for you, if you like 80's style horror then you'll probably love it.

Born of Fire by: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Born of Fire is the second installment in the League series. I wasn't going to read this series until I learned that the Kenyon's Dark Hunter series was going to cross over with this one.

Don't go into this book thinking about the Dark Hunters. The two worlds are very different as is the style or writing.

This book, like the first in the series, Born of Night, starts out slow, but as you progress you get drawn into it and by the middle of the book you can't put it down.

You feel what the characters are feeling, wondering how they are going to react to the truth, and what path each character will take.

You root for the bad guy because you know he isn't really bad but the product of a bunch of circumstances he couldn't control. Syn did what he had to survive, as did every other character in the book. Sometimes to save yourself you have to break some laws.

Is their honor among thieves? Is the government the real criminal?

Only one way to find out!! Read Born of Fire!

The Titan's Curse by: Rick Riordan

The Titan's Curse is as good as its predecessors, the third book in the Percy Jackson series does not disappoint.

The latest book adds in some interesting twists that could impact the on coming war with the Titans. It brings in some new characters who could tip the scales of fate and make the out come of the series harder to predict.

Only one mythological error was found in this installment of the series. Apollo is the god of the sun not the sun god. Helios is the sun good and is actually the sun. Apollo's chariot/car/bus leads Helios across the sky. It is also Helios not Apollo who knows and sees all. The two gods are easily confused and the book tries to explain the merging as Rome's attempt to downsize, but for those who seek to know the true Greek myths it is good to note the two gods and their differences.

Is the end of the Greek gods nearing? Will the Titans get their revenge on the children who imprisoned them ions ago? Which child of the big three will tip the scales of fate? Who will be the victor in this oncoming war? How many will be lost? There is only one way to find out! Read The Titan's Curse and come closer to the answers!
