She's out of my League

She's out of my League was a pretty good movie. Unlike many comedies it offered a great message as well as a good laugh.

This movie is another good date night movie. The movie explores just what love can do and that there really isn't anything such as a league that is out of your reach. All people are assessable if you can love each other. In it's exploration of this theme the characters encounter some pretty humorous situations.

If you have a movie night in the future I urge you to grab a copy of She's out of my League. You won't be disappointed.

The Bounty Hunter

This may be the perfect date night movie. It has that chick flick edge for the girl and the action adventure edge for the boy.

My boyfriend was reluctant to let me rent this, but rent it we did and he loved it. Not only does the movie offer romance, it offers humor and action.

It has something to please just about anyone and I highly recommend it for you next movie night. Both partners can enjoy this movie.

So go grab a copy of The Bounty Hunter, some popcorn and a blanket to snuggle under.

Furry Vengeance

Furry Vengeance can best be described as ok. It wasn't great it wasn't horrible, it was just ok.

It had a good message and many environmentalists will fully agree with that message, however the movie was mediocre.

It had funny parts but it didn't have me rolling off the couch. It would make an ok family movie, there were parts that might be inappropriate for young children.

I don't recommend this movie if your are looking for a great movie. If you just want something to pass the time then this is the movie for you.

Shutter Island

I figured it out in 20 minutes (seriously I checked the DVD player timer). There are all kinds of foreshadowing in the beginning.

Other then the fact it was predictable it was a pretty decent movie. Even with me knowing what was going on it was entertaining.

It is a tad bit violent so I would recommend this movie for an after the kiddies are in bed movie.

Kickass

I didn't want to see this movie. I thought it was one of those mock movies like Date Movie and Scream that made fun of movies that had already been made. My boyfriend told me to watch it.

It wasn't like I thought at all. This movie was GREAT!! It has funny, witty and highly entertaining.

I love this movie. It is a great movie for comic book nerds, super hero freaks and everyone else.

I insist that everyone see this movie.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I have been watching a lot of kids movies lately. Diary of a Wimpy Kid looked interesting in the preview and I have never read the book. With that being said this movie sucked some big ones.

It may just be one of those movies that only a child could love because it did not hold my attention at all, nor do I think I will watch it ever again.

It was kind of gross and well childish..... It had a hidden message but it wasn't anything great.

If you have children they will probably enjoy it, but it isn't really an adult movie.

Planet 51

I love love loved this movie!! It is delightfully hilarious and has humor for both children and adults for example when the astronaut is naked "That is a funny place to have an antenna." Children won't understand the reference but those of us about the age of 16 do.

My favorite character was Rover, a machine, who slightly reminded me of Wall-E. He was funny even though he doesn't speak. When you first meet him you'll understand, just wait for the alien bug.

I would highly recommend this movie for people of all ages. It is hilarious!!!

Youth in Revolt

I am really beginning to like Michael Cera as an actor. Youth in Revolt is just another step in Cera's journey to become one of my favorite comedic actors.

Youth in Revolt offers humor, love, and action. You get a love story, a child in a bad home situation, explosions, comedy, and sexual tension all in one movie.

Cera's character develops and alternate ego that gets him in extreme trouble all to get a girl.

Find out if he succeeds in Youth in Revolt.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

I put off seeing this movie because I didn't think it would be any good. One night of extreme boredom and lack of anything better on Netflix I watched this movie.

To my surprise it was actually really great!! It had a bad guy vs. a good guy, a dream, and even a moral to the story.

For being a cartoon this movie had pretty much everything people of all ages can enjoy.

This is defiantly a movie I would recommend for family night.

Clash of the Titans (2010)

Overall this was an enjoyable movie. It was action packed and held my attention. I would recommend that any action lover see this movie.

It does not have much sub-plot. The love connection is really played out and its pretty straight forward.

Be warned that the writers of this movie did not have a background in classical mythology. The story is not accurate in regards to Greek myth. If you want to watch this because of its mythological aspect you are better off researching through books and websites, then this movie.

If you want entertainment by all means watch this movie, if you want academic fact seek alternative means.

Gone by: Lisa McMan

The final book in the Wake series comes to a graceful end. Janie finally makes her decision between isolation and dream chasing.

She learns some new things about herself, her family, and dream chasers.

The series ends with many unanswered questions. You don't know if Janie and Cabel stay together, if Janie finds a way to stop the consequences of her disease, or if she finds a way to lead a normal life.

Over all I feel Lisa McMan could have given a little more detail about Janie's future and what happens to her.

This is a series that was slightly entertaining but will not stay with me through life. It taught no lesson and held no lasting impact. It was an ok read, not great, not bad, just ok....

Fade by: Lisa McMan

Fade is the second book in the second book in Wake series and is by far the best in the whole series.

Janie now has a job, along the lines of 21 Jumpstreet and is trying to find a sexual predator in her school.

She grows up a lot on her journey in both good and bad ways and learns things about herself.

A decision faces her. What will she chose?

Law Abiding Citizen

Law Abiding Citizen was a refreshing change to the movies and T.V. shows I have been watching lately. I didn't figure it out until the movie reveled it!! This is a great accomplishment because for some reason I have a knack for figuring out way before the movie/show tells you.

If you like suspense-thrillers I highly recommend this movie. once he gets locked up, the fun begins. If you figure it out before it's reveled I applaud you this is one movie that kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on.

Even if you aren't into this genre of movies I recommend you watch this movie at least once. It has the makings of a classic that will survive the test of times.

So, my readers, I challenge you to test your wits and see if you can figure out the movie before the characters.

Wake by: Lisa McMan

Wake is about a girl who falls into the dreams of others. It is the first book of the trilogy and is a refreshing change from the influx of vampire books. (Don't get me wrong I love vampires, but I also love variety.)

The book is written in chunks of time, which makes the book hard to get into because you keep stopping and starting; some passages being pages some being only a few words.

This book has a great plot and concept and is well written. I do not favor the clumping organization, because it makes the book hard to get into and a little confusing. Over all though this is a very interesting book with a very interesting idea.

Dear John (movie)

Overall this is a good movie to watch cuddled on the couch with your sweetheart. They story is touching, but keep in mind it is most defiantly a chick flick and some boyfriends may not approve.

The only issue I had with the movie was the ending. When a book is adapted into a movie it is only natural to assume that some parts will be changed, but the beginning and ending are sacred and should always remain the same.

By changing the end of the story in the movie the whole theme is changed. If you have read my review of the book you will understand.

Not all endings are happy ones, but in this movie you get your happy ending.........

Percy Jackson and the Olypians: The lightening Theif

For those who have read the book do not go into this movie thinking it holds true to the book. There are many elements that are the same, but the plot and journey are drastically different.

There is no Cronus. (I am interested to see how they fix that considering the part he plays in later books, I mean its pretty much the basis for the entire series.

The movie all portrays Grover as a horny little goat boy which made me a little angry because in the book he was a nice guy not a womanizer.

My biggest peeve however was the African American actors. Note: I am not racist, I am merely pointing out that the Greeks were a white race and there gods would reflect that. I realize Disney was trying to be politically correct but lets be historically accurate. Persephone would not have been black, one of the big twelve would not have been, not would a styre. There may have been black Greek citizens because of intermingling with the Persians but that would have been rare. Sometimes I think we take are political correctness a little to far.

Regardless the movie was pretty good. As a stand alone from the book it is great but I highly recommend you read the book as well.
